Hi All,

Greetings from Aus.
I have just picked up a 2002 HSE Range Rover and I really need someone experienced with this car so I could access information on it please, specifically the Message Centre, and being able to change the time, date, reset fuel rates/100km, etc etc. It easy to pull up the various options in the Message Ctr (pressing the indicator stalks end button to go through the various subjects) however, I dont seem to be able to set the time, date etc. Would anyone be able to walk me through this manual setup please? Car came with no Manuals, cant find a freebie online. Also, should the sunroof open fully, or just the tilt function (my old 2005 Disco sunroof did both).
Thanks all!!

Welcome.

Is it a L322 or RRS?
I'm not familiar with the HSE model of either but it will help others.

Must be L322. P38 time is an analogue clock with a button that spins it around like a defenderer. Better at telling how poorly the battery is than telling the time 😂

Clock and trip computer stuff is all set up on the main screen.
The stalk just cycles through the various readings

which head unit, left or right?
doubt it's the one below

I have an aftermarket head unit so none of what you've shown unfortunately. I have a Clarion head unit. I'm thinking if you have shown me these examples then only a genuine head unit will allow interface with the message centre?

I only know for option 3 which does need the factory head unit so I'd assume it's the same for the other 2.

Yup, factory head unit for all the trip settings. There are, I believe, some Android units that do everything on later models but not confirmed.
I think if you have aftermarket you're stuck with how it is.

There was a post sometime ago asking if you could set the clock with diagnostics cos they had an after market head unit. Pretty sure computer says no :)

You can't on an 08 with gap iid.
My head unit doesn't work so I had a look if I could do it but no. Well, unless it's buried somewhere non obvious in a menu.

Need original head unit plugged in to do the settings no chance with after market only option is as per @backinblack .
There are some aftermarket android units that claim to still have all the 4x4 info and clock setting capabilities but they are north of 400 quid and I've not seen many real life reviews yet.
It's something I'm considering for mine but it needs to work properly or I'd rather fix the stock unit.
