any update on this?

Same thing just happened to mine, failsafe prog, then couple miles later i had very little drive (like a slipping clutch) then as I pulled into petrol station lost all drive

Battery on live data was showing to be charging at 11.9 so not sure if a dodgy alternator could be playing a part

Ye

I was thinking the same, I need to try an alternator on it first, I was reading live data and only getting 11.9 vaults, as i know a low voltage can really cause havoc

Saying that I think the problems have now gone passed a none chargin battery and faulty alternator as I've lost drive etc

I was goin to get a new TC and get valve body done. But ended up getting a fully reconditioned box off a guy in England for £800

Fully reconditioned doesn’t normally include the valve body upgrade which means the TC, even if it’s new, still dies and then kills the now fully unconditioned transmission unfortunately.

Hi I'm Gav a Range Rover L322 owner

I was driving along fine all gear changes fine stopped at junction on roundabout went to pull off car revved with no drive. I switched off and on a few times managed to move enough to get over roundabout. Rolled it in to a car park and got recovered got home plugged in the Snap On Solus Ultra no codes on engine or gearbox but 3 in transfer box. These are as follows

0x5212 battery under voltage

0x52ED instr 2 lost from can

0x52F2 instr 3 lost from can

If I leave it a bit it will go in drive then after yards lose drive and all other gears

Anyone help please as I don't want to chase my tail and spend money I don't need to.

Its a 2003 L322 td6
I would start with checking your battery and charging system, if that is OK then service the gearbox. It is worth investing in some diagnostics equipment. I bought Icarsoft which I have used on my L322, Gaylander and Jag. It is probably one of the cheapest options but has saved me a shed load of cash and time. Depending on where you are I do have a GM gearbox service kit with correct oil. Details about servicing are on RAVE and Youtube. Hardest part is getting safe level ground clearance to work on the car. I ended up using two sets of ramps and highest setting on the suspension plus a garden sprayer to refill the gearbox.

Many thanks, Ive had it recovered and taken to my local garage who are Range rover specialists, I'll post what it was when I get it back.

You been sold a dud that's why they were selling it the gearbox is fecked
Unfortunately that tends to be the case with most things these days, a lot of peeps with no scruples or pride. I like to sell my cars in better condition then when I bought them or clarity if there was an issue I couldn't fix. My Wife gets fed up as the only time our cars are in full working condition tends to be on the day they are sold! If you prepare for the worst when buying and pay accordingly you will always be pleasantly surprised. Everything is a gamble!
