The Range Rover Evoque NW8 takes its inspiration from the postcode in North West London, UK, that has been at the heart of the city's creative scene since the Sixties and is home to the world famous Abbey Road. It is based on the Dynamic model and complements the existing SW1 Monochrome and SW1 Colour special editions.

People may not like Evoques (personally I do like them but I'll take a Defender over one any day).

You can't deny the immense level of engineering that goes into modern Land Rover's in fact, Land Rovers are one of the most advanced vehicles on the road. New range rover sport even takes some technology based on the Mclaren P1.

Having said that, I AM NOT a fan of all this bling on Land Rover's. It's a 4x4 for fook sake not a bmw. If you're going to have a Land Rover make sure you've got some taste first.

The principal concept behind LR was go anywhere do anything. They were always true off roaders and very capable (perhaps the most capable) in any situation! The past generation or more have lost their focus and are targetting a completely different market. Take that thing to a muddy field and itll **** its self in fear. If people want a bling 4x4 let them have a cayenne or x5. If they want a real 4x4 landrover used to be the only way to go.

These post codes are no longer places to be held in high regard on any level, least of all with the subtext of creativity or references to the 'swinging sixties'. North west London may have been a groovy place to hang out in 50 years ago but now all Primrose Hill and St Johns Wood offer is over priced coffee and the chance to bump into Jude Law. It is not the heart of London's creative scene given that most of the tech and arts have moved east to a part of town where people still huddle in dank basements, turning wild ideas into reality with little more than their hands and a bit of perseverance - some thing Maurice Wilks would approve of I imagine.

SW1 is even worse. It's full of Russian oligarchs, TV crews shooting scenes for made in Chelsea and 'gastro pubs' serving over priced, undersized east-meets-west fusions that should never be payed for with actual money. It's just a place where rich people drive the aptly named 'chelsea tractors' and Oxfam stocks Ralph Lauren.

Fu*k all these vehicles and their candid references to the nouveau riche school run.

Edit: I agree the tech underneath it all is awesome. But its the principle dude.

Shame much of this "advanced technology" doesn't work reliably, electric handbrakes for one. LR products are still amongst the most unreliable vehicles on the road.
