Hi All, Just been out to the car 1996 p38 2.5DSE and there is rain water on the mat in the footwell ,I know its rain water cos it does not happen when its dry ,this is the second time its happened .
Apart from a leaky windscreen what else can cause this to happen.

Cheers.

Check for water in your pollen filters or see if the leak is from the pollen filters casing

Lift the bonnet and they are under the wiper blades. 2 screws on each cover

If the filters are wet make sure the cover seal properly. A bit of clear silicon round the lips will solve it. If they are dry check the case surounds dunt have cracks in them.

If they are wet just dry em out. If they is dusty an full of crap just get some new uns. They are cheap enough

I had the same prob on mine when i got it and it turned out to be the seam sealer under the plastic roof rails as the roof is in 3 parts the water sits on the top of the screen and gets in the joint under the sealer

Problem solved I hope ,just removed pollen filter and the housing has water at the bottom good thing in away cos the filter is well over due to be changed ,so 2 new filters and so sealant jobs a goodun!!.

Thanks everyboby for your tips on this one.Cheers.

Check pollen filters first if they are dry this is not the problem I thought exactly the same on mine and it seemed obvious that if passenger footwell had water lying on the rubber mat it must be coming in from behind the dash, also thought screen seal might be leaking but in the end by sitting someone inside it and turning jetwasher on it I immediately found the problem it was the rubber seal around the door shut. A good dose of silicon around the top of the seal has stopped the leak. Try that buddy.
