Evening,
My V8 Classic runs hot under load. Head gaskets are fine, fans are working, water pump new-ish so am thinking maybe the 23 year old radiator is to blame. Have been offered a recently recored one from a '94 V8 for £170. It has brass tanks and was in use for a month before the car came off the road due to major gearbox failure.
Seems like a good deal as new aftermarket radiators are £300 or so and I suspect a re-cored original is a better option?
Any thoughts welcomed. Seems a simple enough job for the inexperienced with a Halfords socket set......
