cheers will look at greenflag in a sec hopefully this will solve the transport issue !
yea that's the plan the vehicle is not going to be moved till weekend after next so that should be long enough?
You'll need to read the terms and conditions but I'm sure a couple of days will be fine. A lot of people join up before a long journey, so I'm sure they are used to breakdowns soon after people have joined.
The biggest challenge is going to be getting the vehicle far enough away from home to qualify for Nationwide recovery. But she got a tow home, so I don't imagine that will be too much of a problem?
hopefully this will be the soloution for her
how far do you recon it needs?
im sure she can sort something as this is much cheaper than the labour cost
Well, 1/4 of a mile according to most policies, but too close to home might raise suspicion.
Let's say she sets off to visit you in the morning, stops at the shop on the way and comes out to find that the vehicle won't move. A supermarket, or other safe place 3 miles or so from home?
I'm sure it goes without saying, but safety first, so no stopping at the side of the road etc, and as a lady on her own (I assume?), somewhere public, with lots of people around.
If you need a Tow to get it away from her home address let me know. Sarah is only down road from me met her when she dropped a bulbar off with DrEvil

Thank you all so much for being so helpful.
I'll have a look but i cant do breakdown i'll be straight onto motorway for a good 40ish miles then all A roads and B roads where i cant get signal on my phone to ring break down so if i got it transported id have to have it taken further on than motorways then it'd depend on phone siganls and all that.
I'll have another look round tomorrow though
If it was the gear box bearings would i have managed to drive it 4 hours home from Wales on monday? Just curious.... the clutch was slipping like mad last night before it packed in completely.
Thank you for all your advice and help i really do appreciate it
Come to think of it, will a breakdown/recovery service tow a vehicle that distance in one journey? That's a very long day for the poor recovery guy!
They do a 'relay' which necessitates the vehicle being loaded and reloaded along the route as you are passed from one area to the next so each recovery driver only does a small part of the journey. It is a very time consuming thing!!
Green flag are the best in my opinion. ive been recovered and had the landy taken any where i wish, usually home. Always on a single tow truck all the way
