Is that not just making the problem worse in the long run by drawing more oil out of the already dried out plastic?
I suppose it depends on whether your vehicle has a long run left in it...

Works on some plastics but not all.

Half baby oil & half mineral oil mixture. Apply to clean plastic areas, let it sit in the sun for a few hours and then wipe off.
Lasts about 6-8 months.

First you can use a heat gun (look at some youtube vids if you want to do it first)that will bring back the colour really good and its cheap to do, the second is a bit more expensive
