Also here is a photo showing the 60mm studs with wolf wheels.

I think this quite clearly shows how much stuck out there is so it’s quite obvious if longer studs are fitted or not.

Despite what the Army said I would not drive on Wolfs on the std studs. The Army had a problem they had to solve and they had no money. They came up with a fix that had no enginering basis but stopped the complaints. It didn't and won't stop water sitting in the thread or people looking at it and wondering about the driver. The 50mm studs (std are 45) fit Wolfs perfectly and are £0.95p each so its under £5 a wheel. They can be fitted in situe with a ball joint splitter in under 30 mins a hub. Anyone argueing to run under length studs to save £5 and 30 mins per wheel needs to think carefully about what they are fighting for.

As said earlier in the post, length of thread in contact = dia of thread, any more is not needed.

its not length of stud its weight,a wolf wheel is very heavy,a higher torque is needed to stop nut undoing during braking just like lorry wheels were when lhs had lh threads for the same reason
 
Lol . So who's right then? The MOD or the land rover design? . Twonks. So carry on doing up your short studs way too tight with real wolf rim's and drive on because the government said it's ok.... Lol

where did you Get 50mm studs? I thoughT they were 40,45 and 60mm But would be interested in a LR part number for a 50mm
