They don't even fit longer studs to Wolf 130 Ambulances, Keow Helhor, you clearly talk absolute rubbish.
Why do people have to make things up just to win an argument?

Yeah sum people just don't know. These ones here are particularly stupid

Thats actually not what I meant, what I should have said is, if wheelstuds upset you wait until you see all the other stuff that is considered normal practice in the land rover world, and I should add I do myself.
Though to be fair its the same with all makes of vehicles, not just land rovers or classic cars.

Yeah but no but

Some people can’t be helped, leave him to fit his longer studs. At the end of the day longer studs are better, but it’s been proven that short studs and increased torque is also perfectly safe and strong enough in this application. Good enough for Landrover and the British Military.

'AESP 2320-D-122-811 MODIFICATION INSTRUCTION No. 36:-

INTRODUCTION
1
1.1 The decision has been made to carry out a campaign change of the DEFENDER wheel rim to the DEFENDER(HS)WOLF wheel rim, in complete vehicle sets (qty 5).

1.2 The DEFENDER used a tubeless (7.50x16) tyre fitted with an inner tube on a tubed type rim. The tyres currently in use on the vehicle can be changed over to the new tubless rim utilising a 'snap-in' rubber valve. Due to the heavier construction of the replacement rim, the wheel nut torque has been increased to 170 Nm (125lb ft) to compensate for this.
Replacement wheel brace to be demanded and placed with CES to cope with increased wheel torque. Securing the wheel nuts as described is technically safe and road legal, even though the wheel stud does not protrude all the way through the nut.'

I think he’s referring to the Snatch vehicles. Their armour wasn’t bodged, the snatches were designed to resist small arms fire in NI and were not fit or intended for the weaponry used in Afghanistan & Iraq.
