Just been searching and found some more numbers under the dust on the casing 1407-2872
That means its a 750cfm carb
here is a link for you about it.......Edelbrock.com - Carburetors & Accessories - Performer Series Carburetors
Thanks Griffman, have you ever driven a 3.5V8 with this setup? Does it make a big difference?
TBH, i dont care about it looking cool , just trying to see if overtime the tech that has moved on could make a real difference to the running and power of the car, i don't mind throwing some ££, as i enjoy my landy, but it needs to have a real world benefit. In response to the OP, you have got a few choices here; stick with your SUs (reliable, cheap to service, you know they work over a range of situations), stick on a Weber (don't know much about them) or stick on a Holley 390cfm or whatever (no idea on these on a Rover V8 but you've had good advice above!). Its boring and yes they don't look very good but the SUs will work great after a rebuild and they of course suit the engine. I just can't see a Holley giving you much, if any more power than a nice pair of SUs? But it will look cool for sure and that's half the battle eh

I am looking at getting a bit more power mine is a 85 v8, amazing condition 12k on the clock!!! Its been looked after really well, but the 100ish bhp does not really cut it these days , I don't really have a budget at the moment but trying to look for options...
