Do the same with propane on a diesel ;)

"snot" my 4 door rrc runs dat..progressive feed...aint arf good!!

IF i keep the gmc v8 turbo diesel it will be getting the same..

but to the point..cheapest extra power is efi from later 3.5 rrc..adds 30-40hp.costs sod all.

MUCH CHEAPER and better than any carb setup...THERE is a reason performance cars..IE RACERS, RALLY etc dont use carbs..its cos they are crap in comparision..its 2014 (almost) not 1900!!

then decent headers..£200.for another 10hp..then cam for another 10-25..for £270

plus fitting as op dont wanna do himself...

You can always buy my complete 3.5 EFI engine ;) 89k on it, insides are still tan coloured not dark brown or black, comes with a host of spares etc and its sat on a pallet ready to be shipped as of tomorrow morning

I can even fit a complete new clutch kit if wanted

I do have a pair of EFI heads and an EFI plenum with injectors for sale, you'd need to source an ECU though

The heads are ported slightly on the EFI for the injectors spray pattern or something like that, slightly wider inlet ports basically from what I remember

The inlet ports only have a small half moon shape cut out on top,but not really nessesary I have fitted efi inlet to non efi heads still worked ok,easy job to do.

Really efi adds 30-40 bhp??? Does it do anything for mpg? Anywhere I can get this done?

yes it does..and better mpg..just check LR figures..ie 130hp carbs..165 efi.

WHAT compression ratio is your engine?.its marked on the block..ie 8.13..9.35 etc..this makes a difference to expected power output.but nothing else really unless you live in africa and can only get ****e fuel..

where are you?(ask to reccomend garage)

its a really easy job..it would take me a day to do..so any indepenent LR garage can do..most charge circa 50 an hour..

put it this way if you do will cost less than £200 all in buying bits from ebay..but garage labour will add alot!..atleast nother 400..

its real eay to do though..nuts and bolts job and installing wiring loom and tank (or external fuel pump)..+ you get better emmisions, better mpg too..

plus after you can sell carbs and manifold for about 100

FORGET about nitros..elderbrook carbs etc..they are fine if you diy.but if garage doing will cost SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much to get right..and besides one needs to start installing wide band o2 sensors and aftermarket ecu to run nitros (and 4 barrel carb) properly or risk (REAL RISK) of melting engine due to incorrect air to fuel ratio and detonation..

Good example is ford 302v8 in 1964 was a 210hp engine with a 4 barrel. Now a 302 with fuel injection are up to 450HP . Fuel injection allows a engine to reach its full potential. If you search about fuel injection on V8's you will see. A nitiros system is just silly inless you are a fast and feriuos person or a professional drifter

Hi gents,
I'm running a 3.5 with a Kent cam along with Edelbrock Performer (manual choke) and intake manifold. With any carb it's all in the final tweaking and if you're running offroad there's a spring kit for the floats to install. Great setup and lots of power through out the range. Great setup.

fuel injection eliminates all those issues, and is less affected by water;)

Is that wot they advertise as the off road kit
did it make any diferance from standard and how

I did try asking Rpi engineering who advertise them on the bay but they gave the impression that unless you have a £500 ignition system your wasting there time
They did list a standard jet kit for a 3.5 even though they say the carb is not jet fussy , but on the listing the part number was unclear
