Nitrogen oxide isn't a thing. Nitrogen and oxygen can combine in a variety of different ways. Its a meaningless umbrella term.

But anyhow, I actually meant to write nitric oxide which I'm guessing is the most common pollutant?

I'm interested in how effective this stuff is. Do you know what proportion of exhaust fumes are 'nitrogen oxide'?

Heck if I know

Possibly because the tank was full ?

On a similar note if I need fuel for my truck and I can't find a dedicated HGV pump, I have to put in £100 at a time because pumps generally cut out at £100. Which is a right pain because every time I reach £100 I have to join the queue and pay. If I want 500 litres it takes a while, you might find the previous user of the pump was an HGV.

Heck if I know

Where still has £100 limit? Nearly all my fills are £110+ and never had a problem anywhere in the UK!

Thought theyd upped the £100, my sedona (now 3 years ago) would top £115 if the light was on.
anyway, I is keeping me tratter till they actually ban it... then I'll think of summat.

Foreign trucks have been known to fill up and bugger off without paying. Generally speaking if you drive into a non dedicated HGV filling station they will stop the pump at 100 litres no matter how many times you do it. Another reason is that HGV's dont pay cash, it's usually done on a card (Key card in my case). There's a lot of stolen/cloned Key cards about so if I were to say fuel up with 600 litres and the card doesn't work, thats 600 litres the garage could potentially lose.

If you're filling up your landy with 100 litres plus you'll be ok, the pump wont cut out. Not sure how the technology works to limit a 100 litre fill, but it does.

cooking oil, lots and lots of cooking oil

gallon of petrol and a match... :D chuffing thing...

and, nigel, it was said £100, not 100L, 100L I can understand, not many vehicles with more than a 100L tank, thatd be £135.90 at current local prices :D

my sadowner was when prices last hit over 1.40pl.

Every time I've hit the limit, I've just pushed the button in or placed the nozzle back, given it 5 secs and let go again. They've always authorised it. Rinse and repeat.

adblue is made from ammonia -womens hair products and ****

also turns white on the outside of the tank when spilled on a black tank ,looks like a huge cum stain

Word around the camp fire from VW group is that the future of diesel powered passenger cars is limited in Europe, they believe maybe they can comply with the next two rounds of euro standards but to achieve the NOX levels by 2020 requires an epic exhaust system 8 catalytic converters and filters, so expensive the initial current cost is 6000 euros on a Golf, which they don't consider a viable option. The shift back to petrol engines with turbos such as the Ford Ecoboost and the VAG TSI engines are getting more investment, whereas diesels are going to be focused on the Chinese and South American markets.

Production
AdBlue is made from high purity urea solution. Urea is produced synthetically from ammonia and CO2 (carbon dioxide). Urea is found in every day products such as hair conditioner, cosmetics, adhesives.

Air1 is commercialized by Yara, the largest AdBlue producer in the world. Yara's AdBlue plants in Europe are located in the Netherlands (Sluiskil), Germany (Brunsbüttel) and Italy (Ferrara). These plants are strategically placed to feed the European market and beyond with AdBlue. Yara's Sluiskil plant is the world’s largest AdBlue production site and has an annual capacity of 400 000 tonnes of AdBlue.

By 2012, AdBlue consumption in Europe is estimated by ACEA to reach 3,5 million tonnes per year. When market maturity is reached, North America will be the largest AdBlue (DEF) market in the world, followed by Europe and Brazil. In a market that is growing rapidly, Yara offers more than enough capacity to meet the global demand.

I think VW intend on developing new diesels for the Chinese and South American markets as they are not up there own arses or make their populations feel guilty about exhaling Carbon Dioxide like we do in Europe and the US. Unnecessary regulations have totally ####ed the first world, for the last 50 years the split of wealth has been 80% in the first world and the remaining 20% spread out in underdeveloped countries, in the next 20 years it is speculated to shift the other way 60/40, all because we have allowed ourselves to be ruled and manipulated by pointless environmental taxes, regulations and general soppy liberal socialism. Our empire is long gone, the US economic empire lasted 60 years and is now on it's last legs, like the Yanks or not our currency is pegged to the dollar and if it crashes ours will follow suit, we are all too busy trying to save the trees and worrying about plastic carrier bags to even notice that the first world is dying economically, the future is speaking Chinese and not worrying about bullplop NOX levels, carrier bags or what colour wheely bin to put a empty can of beans in.
It seems that some unelected bureaucrats really are not interested in just how the dickins the UK will look in 20 years.
Not sure why this ended in a rant, oh well, never mind, breath.........

We could of course stick two fingers up to the EU and tell them to get stuffed, most of this legislation is not of our doing and the sooner we are out of the EU the better.
