Not sure if this is normal (I very much doubt it) when coldstarted, the engine seems to pulse. Thought it could be a timing issue but given it completely goes after running for a minute, that's unlikely. Any thoughts?

Being as he has posted in the 200tdi section I would take a guess at V8

D90mitch has these vehicles: 'Titan' 1987 Land Rover Defender 90 200tdi
'Joker' 1994 Discovery V8 (Comp Truck eventually)

To clarify - yes, it is an Automotive 200tdi Turbo Diesel Engine with the Bosch VE Fuel Injection Pump lol. I can't see the idle being too low, if anything it's probably higher than usual given the alterations to the fuel pump.

Could always be dirty injectors, they cause this symptom
