That was not the way it came across in the PM I received.......
Anyway, given that he is sorting your route out he can therefore PM me to find out whats going on social wise and relay it to you if that was the original intent.
From the PM it sounded like he was organising your own "mini trip" if thats not so then I apologise for the misunderstanding but he can message me for meeting details
Good point .. Hardknotts and Wrynose were awkward in a citroen DX in the snow a few years back, but in a Landrover?
We went to the Roman Fort there last year too in the Disco .. wonderful road, but it ain't a green lane or anything like one ..

That's our point in a nutshell .. less than two weeks to go and we still know next to nothing .. Never mind 'I'll be sending pm's' I didn't get any in the weeks before the pm from DavidSally.

I hardly see not posting it on the thread as a form of chicanery......
Its just as simple to send a PM rather than posting up and then having everyone ask where the info is because they've arrived late to the thread and don't want to sift through a few pages of useless banter or in this case bickering

exactly the point............... this trip has been in the making for over 4 months..... 8 days before the actual trip starts you decide to send out pm`s......... how can anyone arrange arround that, with booking hotels etc?
many of the groups where possibly without leaders, the organisation was not there, and to be honest im not sure still is???
No idea who said what, who meant what or anything else ....In fairness to Doc though , on almost every trip ive ever been on, the details of the trip, incl the starting point has always been sent by PM instead of being openly posted on the thread itself
A reasonable point, but we haven't heard _anything_ from you until _after_ you got the pm from DS .. and we still haven't.
I assume from that, that you now don't even want to meet us?
Not on about the start points etc, but the basic details, which pub/tent/nightclub we're all meeting in for the ****-ups/food fights etc .. campsites, local hotels, b&b's etc or at least an area for the start point so we could look .. the Lake District is a big place!

A number of us are very close friends and would like to be in one group on the Lakes trip. We realise this cocks up your planning and we apologise for any extra planning this will cause.
Sorry, but that's the polite way of saying we are going to be in one/two groups. I've been nominated to give you the bad news. Peeps will still be après laning with you if they are in the vicinity. Some are camping, hotel-ing, staying at Travelodge and some B&Bing in Bowness. This is not meant to cause any animosity with anyone or to question your route.
Our group(s) will be starting, early, at Stile End, hopefully with ice still on the lane for good measure; followed by the other more challenging lanes the Lakes has to offer. As the Lakes only has one days worth of these type of lanes, we'll then be heading to the Dales for the second day. If you find anyone else fancies this challenge, maybe to help your group numbers, they would of course be made welcome. We're not putting this on the thread as we don't want to be seen as a breakaway faction from your good organising, nor do we want to hijack other peeps from your trip.
Our group will consist of myself, 90boy, Johnlad, Dizzytim, Paul D, Top Cat, One Stop and Steve999 who has been allowed on the trip but is not on the spreadsheet.
