I'll have a go at bleeding it all again tomorrow and see how it goes.

To be honest, I didn't over tighten the end of the HG where the coolant channels are, just the centre bolts where there is no coolant channels so I don't expect it to be the issue.

I think I'll keep on keeping on with the cooling system and heater matrix and see what comes up.

Its a closed system the only was it's got too much pressure is A) airlock B) Combustion pressure 'gasses' finding their way in...

Hopefully it's the former not the latter! ;)

I wasn't looking too much, I did just think, it could have been a blocked radiator all along. I will have a check of that tomorrow. I did have a quick check of the radiator but that was only a quick check......

Aye a Rad full of shyte another possible culprit.

What was the old coolant like when it was drained?

Just been out to the car because curiosity was getting the better of me.
I blew through the radiator bleed line and that was clear. Ran it for a bit with the cap off and no air coming through the bleed line tell tale.

Cap back on, idled it up to temperature with a few blips of the throttle and felt all the hoses, there is some give in the top hose and it feels squishy still so maybe I was panicking, all the hoses feel fairly stiff and about the same.

It may just be ok, test drive tomorrow will give the results.

And I'm pretty sure there is a slight miss but I'll double check HT leads tomorrow just in case.

There should be some compliance to the hoses.

I:E a bit of give to them ;)

Take her for a good run!

Yeah, the top hose has got a small amount of give to it so isn't completely Rock solid.

I agree, a drive is the only real way to know it's all good.

Well the good news is there was still pressure in the tank when I lifted the lid off.

I'm just in by the heater matrix o rings.....

Well, I wasn't expecting that...

Just got to the heater matrix and the bolt is snapped off in the connector........
This is now going to be a full dash out job! Yayyyyyyyyy

Well, I had the blender motors to do anyway, hopefully it will all be worth it!

Aye never goes to plan!! ;)

Well she's apart that gives you an opportunity to clean her out good and proper, as well as replace all the niggles.

I'd remove the front seats, gives much better access, just four bolts and some connectors ;)

Good plan, it needs a good clean out anyway!

when you get to the snapped bolt replace it with a stainless allen cap head makes life easier next time:D
or replace matrix with an Audi one and not have to worry about it again:)

As you can see, the dash is out!

Lucky for me, I didn't have a sheared bolt but I did already replace it with a hex head bolt, I saw it on ebay and thought, ooo that's a good idea!

Does anybody recognise the se two pieces? The first part fell out of the dash, the second is a cable that routes round the drivers footwell pillar and back aft under the carpet, it is too short to reach the radio so I am guessing some kind of car phone kit?
