Yeah 6mm folded and welded tray from one piece rather than two, make the mounts up so they go over both sides of the chassis leg using the 6mm with some fillets and that should do nicely :D

My series bumper is all 5mm but thats plenty for it :)

Eggsackly what i was thinking! :D

And maybe make the mount for the outer side of the chassis leg come back further along the chassis to utilise other bolts holes maybe :scratching_chin:

Just thought about something else! Wanna put high lift jacking points on it to. Anyone know how big the holes have gotta be?

I think I made them 30mm last time I did some or may have been larger than that

only really need to use the front two but you could use the others then make up a steering/sump guard to go with it

I had to google it but it means strong according to urban dictionary

OOOOOOhhhh..... I See..... Well in that case I'm sure your bumper will look pretty sick... *smug smile raised eyebrows*

Cheers man ... SORRY... Bruv.. *raised eyebrow* or Blud... not entirely sure...

Why do we have to find new words?? Theres some pretty cool ones which have been forgotten...

Kexy: brittle, dry.
Crassulent: Fat.
Dodrantal: of nine inches in length..... Laaadies :D

Sorry i'll stop high-jacking your thread now just had to ask.....

No worries mate ;)

Hopefully the steel should turn up next week so i can get on with it:D

Are you using the extension piece on the jack?

I only ask cause if you are putting shackle points on your bumper you could just use the strap attachment or something like
https://www.expeditionexchange.com/recoverygear/DSC01387.jpg ???

Yea thats the plan. Have always planned on the jacking points. Will be the same with the rear bumper. Will make up 2 more "hench" recovery points and also put 2 jacking points in aswell. And maybe a nato hitch in the middle:eek:

Hi-Lift Jack Adaptor

Looks a bit sturdier than your linky tbh:eek:

Not worried aboit doing more fabrication work to the bumper makes it more of a challenge :)

Yeah it was just an idea........ .... :) in fairness I just ripped the photo off google :D I have been vaguely thinking about this, its a long way off for me yet. Just wondering are you just making holes in the bumper or are you intending to sleeve them? I've not seen any of these in the flesh so to speak...

Ive been vaguely thinking about it for a while also :D ive never seen one in the flesh either im just going by pictures i find on the net then taking measurements from the chassis/original bumper :p

Im intending on sleeving them and welding the sleeve into the box like ive done with the recovery point.

I should have all my series bumper bits tomorrow :D using 15x75mm steel bar for my recovery points as they're just right :p

Hi again all sorry for the lack of updates been really busy sorting out other things of late.
But had a crack a carrying on with the build over the weekend and by god its hot welding in this weather!

Dont worry the standard bumper is not staying on i just haven't had the time to build the winch bumper yet

Just need to finish off putting some strengthening bar and fabricate new inner wing tops rails and then just got to fab up a couple of brackets for stuff that used to be held on by the inner wings. So still a bit of work to do yet :)

Hopefully should be more than enough clearance for 37's now :) although may need to revisit the rear inner arches now.

Also got my bottom end bearings shells ordered this morning for the v8 so hopefully should see the bottom end going back together soon too.
