Stratstone (formally Reg Vardy's) chased me when I asked them about spares for my 90. Cos I weren't wearing a suit. Try yer local garages mate. They know more than Stratstoned. ;¬)

or maybe cos weve already sugested that you take it to a gargage but not a dealership. i reckon the ecu could be fuked

thank you,but I had been on 3 garage and landrover garage too,and every say same...your defender is ok!!! your computer is fine. I spend loot of money and got still this problem Isnt funny now for me,sorry

The problem is, there can be so many reasons why your Defender is not running right. It could be oil in the wiring harness (a common fault) a faulty wastegate, fuel pump fault, turbo fault, etc. Somebody could have tampered with the wastegate to try and get more power (like on mine), the engine will then go into a default "low power" mode. You say the engine is "noisy" when accelerating, what kind of noise does it make? (these engines are quite noisy compared to a car!)
I think the best advice has already been given and that is to find a good local independent dealer to have a look at your Defender.

ADI, your best bet is to get your landy to do whatever is does when you say that your power is down and the engine is noisy, then go to a workshop that has the computer program and who can connect the computer up to your landy, but, DO NOT SWITCH IT OFF!!!!! once you switch it off and restart, the landy computer has reset itself. KEEP IT RUNNING WHEN YOU GET TO THE WORKSHOP, and get them to connect up their computer. this way, any and all faults will show up, and they may be able to solve your problem.
