Depends on who you are, your age, driving history etc. But generally I have found that it was about the same to insure my Discovery and then my 110. Maybe slightly cheaper, but only about £10 at most.

But at £120ish fully comp I ain't going to argue!

Haven't looked for a few years but when I was 19 (2 years ago) -
200TDi 110 - £750
200TDI Discovery - £2500

Now I'm 21 and Ive got a TD5 90 and it's £550 a year...

Go figure?

Bought a 2002 Disco in 2013 .. from a car dealer off Autotrader and despite spending £4,500 replacing both gearboxes , drive shafts ,springs etc the list has been endless . Decided to cut my losses and advertised it on Ebay .. sold to someone for £2,000 but this guy had more sense than me .he HPIed the car and discovered that it's a cat D write off and it happened in Spain . The car has more disguises than Scaramouch . It's the worst car that I have ever owned in thirty three years of motoring. I am going to do one of two things with it .. cut it up for spares .. so watch out for a new gearbox .over drive box engine etc or get it sign written warning the public why they are called 4 x4 .. because they are four times the price of everything else to repair !!

This is something I have never understood maybe somebody could enlighten me. Why did your original insurer not pick the cat D, I accept this was in Spain but if it is the insurers who decide if a vehicle is written off or not and what cat then surely this should show up on their computer for the next insurer or don't they talk to each other.

2005 110 double cab, fully comp without any no claims discount £285 through Flux, seems a fair enough price to me.
