Hi,
Have a question for you re the power steering. It's on a 1.8k series.
No massive problem but just doesn't feel quite right.
I get a lot of noise when turning, any amount of direction change and sounds like it comes from the steering wheel itself, almost sounds like an electrical whine or something dry if you get what i mean. Is fairly loud and is always a radio on job to drown it out.
With no turning effort on the steering wheel i can hear a hiss sound until i start to move the wheel just a fraction and it stops, then just the normal power steering sound you expect (minus the steering wheel noise i described)
The unions on the rack are corroding away nicely but no fluid leaks. The fluid is quite dark looking and intend to renew this anyway.
I did notice in the engine bay the hose that comes from the rack to the cooler (return pipe?) is quite flat as apposed to round, is this normal?
Any advice greatly appreciated
Dave
