Right, just had the tank off the disco 300 tdi to weld up the chassis and rear crossmember. Refitted and filled her up and she fired up straight away. Travelled up to leeds 50 miles and parked uyp and left it over night. The next morning took a couple of go,s to start her run it for a mile stopped left it for an hour same again, left it over night started first turn of the key run it 8 mile left it 2 hrs 4 atempts to start it you get the jist...Its as though the pumps empty of fuel.. it runs perfect..so im thinking crap from the tank may have damaged the lift pump..so ive ordered another and got a new filter, has any one had this problem ???

cheers

Air in the line definitely, check condition of pipes on the outlet of the sender unit, and the fuel lines, I found a small pin hole half way up towards the engine, I cabled tied a replacement off the shelf fuel hose from tank to the lift pump and havnt had a problem since

Went to it this morning the fuel filter had drained over night so primed it up and it fired up....noticed while priming diesel weeping from the injector pump couldnt see where from exactly, due to the grease n grime gonna have to clean it off and try that again. Checked the elbows to the sender unit theyre fine tightened up the sender unit ring a bit more, see what happens in the morning..
