Hi guys

This Saturday i will start replacing all the bushes with Bearmach polybushes and already have part of the A frame off but need to know when fitting bushed parts back on do you just nip them all up, go for a rid round then tighten them up properly or just tighten them up when you fit them :confused:
 
nip 'em up, lower the vehicle onto its wheels, jump on the bumper a few times get underneath and torque the buggers up until you pop veins in your forehead and get a hernia. Doing mine tomorrow. I am NOT looking forward.
 
I have just fitted the bearmach Super pro kit to my D1, not the easiest job in the world, but far from the hardest too.

Take care, and take your time - worked for me. I did all the springs and shocks too, so it rides pretty well now - I'm pleased with the result.

Reiny has the approach I used too - fit all the new stuff, then back on its wheels, and then torque everything up. My shoulders hurt like for a couple of days after that, but, thankfully, no hernia:D

I need to fit my bearmach poly bush kit. Will you let me know how it goes please mate.

The bushes are quite easy to do but i had the use of a ford void bush remover / fitting tool to fit the new poly bushes in and a vice to press the sleeves in.

if you can with the new sleeves chamfer an edge on one end of the sleeve to help it press into the bush ;)
 
I got my front end done on Friday and changed all springs and shock absorbers while I was at it. It's the third time I'm changing my bushes in 10 years. Copperslip and pneumatic tools really make life easy. I just need to do the rear radius arms and A-frame when I find some time.

Yeah its funny the old A frame bushes which looked like they had been on from leaving the factory was easier to replace than the rest of the bushes which was all poly bush but mixed with different makes and when re-fitting the bolts i coppersliped them as they will all be coming off again next year when we replace the chassis, just want to get everything done so when we come to replace the chassis its just a matter of swapping everything over ( hopefully ) i have pneumatic tools but no comp as yet as my comp was weighed in a few months ago but every time i get to a stage where i can buy a new comp something else happens but hopefully soon i will get one :)
