According to the sellers PM, I would also benefit from a late model defender dash and coil springs too!

Strange that isnt it....

but the chassis hasn't been modified to fit the coils of course as that would result in a loss of the tax exempt status...

Just trying to weight this one up, not a lot seems to be original for a 1985 model but it would be possible to register it as one legally (absolute borderline though). Also I don't see why anyone would want to register it as a 1985 model except for export to America in which case it's going to get crushed cos nothing is original. Seems daft really

On the DVLA vehicle check it's registered as blue, but if you look at the under bonnet pic the bulkhead is white (or light grey) so unless it's a replacement bulkhead then it couldn't have been blue. It is a nice vehicle and if it was all above board I would willingly pay the asking price. If the guy hasn't registered the change of colour I doubt the engine numbers match either, could be a whole load of trouble for someone :(

Yeah true, it's a bit of a funny one really. If it had all been done properly it wouldn't be an issue. Then again how hard is it to register a colour change. Bet it would be easy enough to do

Tis just a complete td5 on an old Id. Still on the same td5 chassis etc, the only thing not td5 is the id!
Somones pride and joy with some old plates on.. :(
