Hi guys, Right the stereo has been installed and everything works really well, a massive shout out to Brian47 for all his help

But........... due to the amount of wires and boxes now the stereo wont push back fully, its not right so i have to think of somthing to get more space behind the unit.
So my thoughts are to cut the new stereo loom in half and extend the wires so that it sits behind the glove box. I pretty good with a solder iron and heat shink and it doesent worry me at all.
But is there an easier way, IE taking the dash apart to get the wires behind it ect ect

any ideas would be great

I took the dash centre out so that I could weave all the wires and boxes in - it was a close run thing to cut the looms and shorten/lengthen to fit more easily but it did all gut eventually.

What part of the dash did you remove, I did search on here and the net but couldn't really find out how to take the dash apart

Essentially all the centre - Not sure if I even looked for links but I am sure if you search for heater control panel removal (as this was the trickiest bit) would be a start.
There are quite a few screws to remove - revealed when you take out the ash try and coin trays, remove the cup holder etc - work methodically and don't force anything and it will simply dismantle. There is quite a bit of space/volume to work with so all should be fine.

This should help - fast forward to the end as he shows how to remove the control unit;

With the radio out, trays removed, cup holder removed, switch block and clock modules out (just pull out from memory) you should see all the screws that need to be removed to remove the entire surround.

I have a totally different system in mine as don't have the amps in mine but I needed to wiggle the wiring around due to space.
I just took the glovebox out as its only a few screws and gives access to the rear of the stereo without having to dismantle the centre dash.

Sorted the wires out yesterday, took the AC controls out and hid some of the boxes behind it, so saved me cutting the loom about, still don't sound as good as I was hoping for
