Hi,

I really hope someone can help. I have a 98 petrol freelander, around 7mths ago it started cuttiing out after around a 20 min journey but starts again after a few mins. Once it starts cutting out in the day it will continue to do it every 5 or so mins, I have left it during the day for 8 hours but will cut out again after 5 or so mins. The only time it will completely cool down for a good 20min journey is if I leave it over night.

I have had the fuel pump, cranshaft sensor, spark plugs and temp switch replaced by 2 different garges who have both taken my money but not fixed the problem. It is in with another garage who have had it for 2 days and still nothing.

I have low mileage and love the car but is due for an mot soon and if these guys cant fix it im going to have to get rid of it

does it cut out when your driving along or when you are stopped or both?

It is is mainly when driving but has done it a couple times when I have felt it start to loose power so I have stopped before it cuts out then will cut out when idling.

try posting this Q in the freelander forum - yu mite get more help.

it nwould be good if there was a separate section for freelander owners to go if they had a problem with it, and they could get some type of help
