Hi if anyone could offer a bit of experience or wisdom it would be greatly appreciated. I have been battling to get a new windscreen seal in my 90 for 2 days. I've managed all bar the very top left corner which is kind of half in, half out. Problem is my cord has all come out. I've tried pushing cautiously and even a gentle thump. I'm at my wits end. Please help!

I once busted a screen, never again, paid a local fitter to install its replacement.....£30 job done.

When I watched the fitter he did need someone to apply steady medium pressure to the outside (where the cord was) as he pulled the cord and worked the seal on the inside

Done it a few times and never seen that, best take it out again and as said use cord and lubricant. Try not to finish at the corners next time.

I used screwdriver and pressure from a helper.
Plenty of watered down washing up liquid.
Last bit is a loads of pressure and lubricant, then it just all slides into place.

Do you have glass suckers and did you lube the seal/screen before fitting? I had the same issue with mine but had heavily lubed the edges and had a pair of suckers attached to the screen so I just pushed the screen down and away from the corner and it slipped into place fully. It took me about three attempts to get it in and seated correctly. Your problem is the seal is partly in so without moving the screen downs and to drivers side it will not easily sit into place. If you need to start again with it if you carefully push from the inside that corner outwards you should be able to remove it with the seal intact and start again. Then cover both the screen edges and seal in washing up liquid or Vaseline to aid everything slipping into place correctly.

Thanks guys. Got the screen back out and after about another 73 try's all the Mrs washing up liquid and a bit of help from her too, finally got it to opo in yay. Never ever doing it again. Also managed to get door seals fitted and some strengthening escutcheon plates made up. Good day in all. Thanks for all the tips
