hi all

had a search but no real answer

tomorrow i want to drop my fuel craddle so i can repair it !!! very rusty and 1/2 missing lol

ive got sheet metal so i can remake the craddle but where do i start to remove it????

drop rear sub frame ? then craddle should come down???

axle stands under fuel tank to take weight ?

please help

Have to tart mine up again for the mot in aug , have seen on here , remove/lower rear prop , exhaust , not sure on subframe , fuel tank must be supported , mine will have to repaired/ replaced in the next year or so !

It's a ballache to do if you don't have the right support equipment. You could alway do what I did and cut some sheet metal to size, then loosen one bolt of the cradle so you can slip the plate in between the cradle and the plastic tank protector then using a few jubilee clips though some small cut holes in the plate to hold it in place

ive been looking to see if there are any templates online of the plates so i can make them to size etc before even turning a bolt to lower it

but as of yet i cant find any

think if i manage to drop the craddle ,and refit home made plates to it ,that i will make templates and post them somewhere so others will gain from them

i emailed some guy who had repaired his and all i got was for £70 he would send me the dimensions

all i did was undo the one bolt at the front of the side you are doing, then slipped a piece of card inbetween the cradle and the tank and made the template from there. I was lucky as the cradle plate was that rusted it had left a perfect imprint on the while tank protector. i will try get the photos on here as soon as

hopefully this will work, before and after pictures
