I'm not been able to have a really good look yet, as it looks like I will have to drop the fuel tank to see whats up, but my 3.9 v8 disco 200 has just started throwing fuel all over the floor...

Its comming from somewhere between the fuel pickup at the top of the tank & the fuel filter under the rear offside wheelarch, but not from anywhere I can see. It is however comming out as a constant dribble.

Before I pull it all apart...
  • is there a first place to look, the place/way they all break?
  • where can I get a new 1 (cant find one after a quick look on the web)
  • is there a recomended way to fix it, I'm sure a new one will cost a fortune?

Land Rover did a safety recall for petrol tanks ref A156 disco 1 1993my to 1998my. I think early 2005. Maybe yours wasn't done, (or a previous owner didn't pass on the notice). It might be worth a plaintive plea to LR.

The feed/return pipes rust to bits you prob need to replace sender unit (if it's same as 300tdi that is)..

Thanks for the replies, my baby daughter has arrived into the world & so I've given up tying to find the time & got someone else to do it. The pipes are "rusted to bits" but Landrover have made them all obsolete.

Anyone know where I can get a full set of flow & return pipes, plus sender unit?
