Fletcherism

Hi all. New to the Land Rover thing and enjoying the time spent under the car and fixing little things like blown intercooler hoses.
I am looking at changing the exhaust but can seem to find any performance after market systems. Looking for a better sound and twin pipes. 2014 td4.
Any one out there tried and tested any??

Thanks in advance

You'll need a custom made exhaust. I doubt anyone makes an off the shelf set of pipes for it.

The standard FL1 exhaust is not too bad a design - but there are different back boxes available. However, I'd be surprised if a replacement silencer would net more than 2bhp.

On a turbo diesel, I suspect that deleting a couple of cats would yield more power - but in the day and age where MoT folks are expected to look harder for emissions equipment, this becomes a much less attractive option.

What are your goals for a performance exhaust? A better exhaust note, or more power/torque? If the former, change the back box. If the latter, then there are other tuning options that will provide better for money than changing the exhaust :)

It's difficult to get a decent exhaust tone from a turbo diesel, especially if it's fitted with a DPF. You can often just remove the boxes which makes it louder, but not necessarily nicer sounding.
Try a couple of exhaust specialists to see what they suggest.

Like that one. It’s my prototype

So many reasons I don't like Faceache - but from a car perspective, the threads are not readily accessible or searchable in the way forums are. Why use an inferior platform?
