No it's 10 years from the issue date and as mine was issued in February 12 the EU won't accept the extra time.i never spotted it,the girl at the travel agents did

I've just rechecked Kermie,it must be less than 10 years old on the date of entry see date of issue and have three months left on the date of departure to return home,see valid till date. Yes it is , but when I renewed mine I still had time left on the old one so that's why the issue was February and the expiration date October like the extra month you can get on the MOT. I believe a number of people are falling foul of this confusion and are being turned away at the airport.
That was due to an EU ruling, nothing to do with the UK tax grabbers.
