good job ya didnt risk it mate...

that would of been expensive.....

think i need off road motor... gettin carried away in my road motor... and gettin jelous i have to drive round the black routes..

Apart from the works van.the landys my everyday motor,i use it nights and weekends ,and when it snows to do my plumbing jobs..the landys the only vehicle i own apart from the scooters,so will be happy to get it back tonite..very very lucky, cos i was tempted to use it for laning then take it back for timing belt,so glad i didnt..

How much ya guesing then nick, for supply and fit 2nd hand box,was awkward job due to side exit exhaust.then timing belt and bearing etc.labour n materials, wadaya think

i'm tryin not to think bout it...

wouldnt have a clue... belt kits bout 100, gearbox? 150 to 200?.. fitting couple hundered... am i getting close????

well i still don,t know nick, been and collected it ,said to take it and he has not worked bill out yet,
its just how he is,mowed out with work cos he,s cheap, that,s why it was,not done in time for sat,but also no time to work bill out yet, drove as good as it ever has on way home, all gears ok ,going to run it round a week or two, then drop the oil as box had been stood a while,

Nick, might be worth getting a slight lift (2inch?) on yer disco n have a separate set of steel wheels with mudders fitted for those off road adventures. Mine aren't that extreme 235/85s gives quite a bit more clearance and the simex mud tyre tread pattern gives extra bite.
would save your lower profile tyres with less agressive tread for daily road driving, n save you having to mess around with two vehicles?

nunny, my guess, £450 + vat.....but I hope its less mate

is there a prize for the nearest nunny?:)

yeah i kno joe.. but r lass wants it kept standard, no lifts, or takin valance off, or cutting arches, or tree sliders.... my only option is a second motor hidden where she cant find it.... ha ha ha...:D

or bury r lass where no one will find her... hmmmmm... now theres an idea..... he he he...;)

i'll have to stick to the tamer stuff til i get sorted... its fun watchin other people get stuck.. as ya all found out last outing at parkwood... i can still here the laughter....:hysterically_laughi

ya can hide on my street ,outside my neighbours if ya want, aslong as its taxd,i can see me falling out over parking issues anyhow, mite also get the yorkshire scooter alliance lads to park 100 or so lambrettas and vespas on street too while ime at it,that al show em how mich i can degrade the area,ha ha

my dads neighbour bought an old motor and parked it ouside her house to stop other people parkin there...

then she bought a new motor and started parkin outside everyone elses houses!!!

neighbours went mad so she got rid of the old motor.... it wouldnt have been too bad but she could get at least 2 cars up her drive....

just re read yr post joe...

245/75 r hardly low profile... 30.6 inch diameter..
235/85 not much bigger at.... 32 inch diameter..

ya axles r only 0.7 inch higher than mine... (i kno an inch makes all the difference)...

its the body work thats the problem, but a lift would help that...

found i also bent my rear bumper or mounts cos my rear bumper is about an inch higher on the off side than the near side... any higher an i wouldnt be able to open rear door...

just contemplating how i'm gonna sort that out... dont fancy attacking it with mi big hammer...

standard bumper is a weak piece of ****

im just having an hd made atm

however, often the bumper just slides on its mounting bolts, this is easily dropped back down again by loosening and retightening

if yor bumper is knackered i have one availaibale, was gonna scrap in in a couple weeks when i fit the new one

but as above you probably just need to adjust it

cheers
