New chassis, new bulkhead, new tub, new doors, new wheels recon engine and new paint and you will be sorted, your tyres and mirrors look ok so keep them, good little project for the summer.
Or look on ebay for a good one someone else has spent all the money and time on.

Leave paint as is then? Not even when it’s mechanical and structural sound? I don’t understand
When it's sound and mechanically perfect then think about a bonny paint job!!
Personally mine looks like it's been dragged through a hedge backwards!! But it's sound and solid! I would never dream of getting mine resprayed as it's a day use and weekend fun car!! Paint work gets fecked to easy

I think what @blackstrat is saying is it is a very nice original vehicle and it would be a shame to lose that buy over zealous modifications as there are very few left in the original spec. Once it is mechanically sound you could repaint it smarten it up but use the origianal colour and replace the origianl decals.
No I like the original scruffy paint I’d just fix it mechanically and put the right stripes on.. but it’s not mine :)

Found some before and after pictures. A household foam gloss roller is exactly what I mean and gives a very good finish. I did not remove any of the dents (I am a firm beliver in a 30 year old work vehicle not looking pristine) so the paint finish is the last thing to be noticed. But even up cloase you have to know what you are looking for to know it was done with a roller, the average person on the street would not notice. I would also state that the paint was the last thing to be done, both sit on new chassis and are structurally and mechanically in good order.

Series done one panel at a time final photo is a couple of years after painting so can see it stands up to time well.:

If I had not had the space avaiable at work to do it all in one go I would have done the 110 one panale ata tiome the same way I did the sereis.

that actually looks ok lol I thought it would just look like really really wrinkled skin?!

Hi first thing i think i would do is see when mot runs out . do you have a few months left ,to clean off all the chassis inspect it is it worth repairing ,if so repair it then the footwells then itll prob be mot able to get on to do the rest of the work .
As for selling it on for a newer 90 td5 ,i know ill get slated here but i am going to say it ,personally i dont like the td5 90 or disco too much to go wrong its supposed to be a simple to fix vehicle which nowadays is not my mates both td5 vehicles have let him down bigtime and has borrowed mine to tow , ok shes not fast but reliable , i would rather put the money into an older 90 and dont forget if you do security take it serious as itll be gone . good luck mate

So do I but I like it all to be uniformly scruffy and match. I would not have repainted the series if it had come with the original doors, I would have repaired them and left all the patina. But the blue was wrong, good condition, but wrong. So I painted the whole thing.

Don't get the wrong impression, just becasue both of mine have been painted does nto mean I am precious about it. Both get used off road and for greenlaning, and if it gets scuffed and scratched that is just adding back to the work worn look they wear best.

Like any paint it is all about the prep work, so they were all cleaned, sanded down, primed and then top coated. Putting the paint on has a knack and takes a little trail and error practice but you soon get used to it. You need just the right amount of paint and to not over work it to get a good finish with a roller. Will try and take a close up photo when it stops raining so you can see the finish.

Yes uniformly & matching scruffy is best but that’s hard to achieve and (imo) you have the next best thing, it tells a story so to speak. If it’s bugging you though then obviously you need to paint it once the mechanics are sorted. I’ve converted three of those to truck cabs in the past (I just like them) with the wrong colour cabs and just flatted then puffed it over with aerosols so the paint’s not too shiny and new, I ‘aged’ the new stripes I put on my Ninety with some wire wool once too.

Minor hijack, sorry...
Problem is that on a 20 year old Landy, the original paint just isn't the original colour any more. Even proper LR touch up spray is 'just' the wrong colour. Anybody know of a paint colour matching outfit on the south coast?

All the laquar has came off the front wings and when you say roller all I can think is a house foam roller lol

Hats exactly what everyone means. I painted mine with a normal paint roller from b+q - 5 years later it’s still fine

lol that’s just crazy....I just thought one I have FINISHED the chassis then to keep value or raise it I’d need to not make it look like a rusty skip...I like the blue and the stickers and tbh now I look at it in the rain it looks abit better wet haha...maybe I should just laquar where it’s came off and mop it all to see what it’s like....biggest issue tho is the back is rough and when I replace tub cappings they will be new paint and will look odd

You could always leave them in a bare galv. It would not be original but that is what the older vehicles had. Alhtough replacing parts is the reason both of mine have been painted.

Gave it a bit of a jet wash underneath the first pic it’s kinda split on the seam.......thoughts?

Pic of mine painted with roller. Mine has so many layers of paint that up close you can see it all but it still looks smart, yours will come up much nicer.
