It's probably a HSE as you say then. The VOGUE SE sound system should have an uprated HK System & extra speaker housing on the dash.

Yeah it might be. Thats another thing I shall look for then. It does have h/k according to the description

Vogue and Vogue SE - from 99/00 onwards iirc

Previous to that HSE was the Top Model...but the later models can be specced with anything due to the BMW style options list and selctions...so you could have a SE but with all the Vogue SE options!

Aha yes that makes sense. Why do they have to confuse things!!! Roll on saturday. Will get a really nice long drive back in it. Swansea to Milton Keynes

Its going in for a fresh mot tomorrow even though its got one until december so just be a genuine car really. But yes of course I'll test it and that.

Hmm strange. He did have a very strong swansea/welsh accent so that bit was slightly difficult to understand

I wouldn't have a problem with this , he`s selling with years mot , and on bright side moves mot date to good weather for any future work :)

Good luck.
Don't forget to take a full check list, that way you wont forget to check anything. Go for a long test drive, alone if you can. Give it a good kick-down in sport, response should be rapid on the 4.6
Check the cooling system first (cold) though, evidence of K-Seal etc.
Let us know the verdict;)

My P38 went through it's MOT last November. Since then I've had to replace the rear airbags, upgrade the RF receiver and replace front latches plus replace a blend motor. It may go through the MOT but it doesn't necessarily mean the car is 100%.

Thank you. Whats a k-seal and how do I check that?

K-Seal is a bodge repair for HGF or cracked / porous block or leaking rads etc. It can work short term but it eventually blocks up your cooling system. Best way....well only way to check is remove expansion tank cap & check for tiny specs of copper on the underside of the cap & around neck of bottle - thats K'Seal.....run a mile. There are plenty of V8's out there with block issues & owners trying to palm them off unfortunately.

K Seal is an additive that is added to coolant to seal up water leaks and potential Head Gasket issues and buggered radiators...

It usually has a reddy/rust tint to it and depending on type can have a shimmer to it.

Whilst some swear by it...it only indicates lack of maintenance and attention to most as it is often added to a knackered motor in order to sell it before the K Seal fails and the engine gets fecked....

Irontite (?) is another version to try and cover up split blocks and cracked liners!

EDIT: Martyn beat me to it  :D

Too true, mine passed with no advisories in Jan. since then iv'e had to:

Replace waterpump
Replace rear diff
Replace O/S rear hub
Fit new disks & pads on rear
Replace bearings in alternator
Just about to replace all pulleys & tensioner for serp belt.
....oh, & 6k oil change coming up.

Wow I shall definitely look for that in that case. Eeek you guys are scaring me a little now. I'll go with a clear hear I think and not get carried away to buy it

Not trying to scare you at all...just reminding you of the Golden Rule to buying a Range Rover....

Never ever buy a Range Rover with fault(s) unless you are prepared for and appreciate the potential time, cost and frustration involved in repairing it.

A Range Rover/Land Rover isn't for everyone - they will test your patience, wallet and relationship, they are not a 'get in and go' car, they are a hobby and a lifestyle.

BUT - you will never ever want to be without it, ever....it will be the only car that tugs on your heart strings as well as your purse strings...yet still never want to get rid of it - and if you do, you'll want it back or get another..:D
