Bridge the relay direct to battery as suggested, or it may even be the relay come to think of it...swap it for a similarly coloured one and try again...

Bridge the relay to prove the pump...cranking may not be the best way to test it!!!

Hmmmmm.....if bridging to run the pump directly didnt work, odds on its the pump!!!

Search for a post by canyon (?) he details a way to cut the floor to prevent having to drop the whole tank....which can be a pain!

i now get a injector simbol come up on dash when turning on ign cant remember if there before or not. it goes out after lets say 2-3 second is this normal?

jusr read it should come up then go out so guess thats ok

whats the best bet? some people else where saying get it plugged in test book etc or just change the pump?

just so many things that could be at fault

might save up and get nanocom or maybe father xmas can bring me one lol

If you have bridged the relay and you get no diesel out of the filter, odds on it's the pump or just possibly a wiring fault. Pump failure is common. Diagnostics will tell you nothing.

Live feed from battery positive to terminal 5 on pump relay, the one that is contrary in orientation to the other three. Pump should run. If the car is pre 1999 the pump will NOT run on cranking. It will only run with glow lamps on or when engine is running. If it is MY 1999 or later, pump will run with glow lamps on, on cranking and whilst engine is running.

Bite the bullet
Odds on its the lift pump or its wireing eather way your gona need to get access to it
Now theres two ways to do that! The first is drop the tank! Not a five minute job especially if its been untouched for 15ish years the other option is to cut a access hatch in the boot floor! (Actually under the back seat)This is alot quicker and easier if you messure carefully but it comes with draw backs!

If as said earlier the tank has been untouched for 15years the brake pipe above it (which is only accessible with the tank removed) will be in a sorry state. Its a good idea to spend the extra time and effort to remove the tank and replace this pipe.as I found to my cost about a month after cutting the boot floor to replace the pump the pipe in question bust catastrophicly rendering me at motorway speed without brakes and only by gods grace I made it to the grass inbankment in what could only be called a controlled crash! there's a thread on it somewere. Ill try find a link and you read it and make you own decisions
But I'll put money on it, it is your lift pump! Your describing the same symptoms I had when mine went down

ok will change asap what side of the car is the tank

i read one review where it said it was under the 3/4 seat then showed a photo to match it showed on near side only problem is my 3/4 is on the off side? dont want to cut hole in wrong place lol

I check relay thing again just so I know I wasn't being dump still not diesel. But got a few weird things didn't notice before but cars telling me the ing key is in all time? And I put new battery on last night now mileage is showing different was 93k now 101k the guy I got it from did tell me about the odometer error but said it was due to him charging battery up. Have I been done?
