Quite simple - small funnel and then straight down the dip-stick tube.
Beware - don't over fill or you'll have trouble....

The litre bottles of gear oil are good, they have a 4" long spout which you can stick into the fill hole then squeeze to get the oil in. You're gonna spill some nomatter how you do it, so put something down on your concrete/tarmac drive.
 
you need a pipe to go down the side of the engine and through the transmission tunnel. the filler is on the o/s of the gearbox about half way up, top up until the level spills out of the filler.

That sounds a PITA, can't it be got at from underneath?
 
the filler plug is higher up than the edge of the transmission tunnel. not too bad really i just put a piece of clear hose pipe stuff on the neck of the bottle and squeeze.
