hi ive put a 2" suspension lift on my p38 also 30mm wheel spacers since fitting the springs the rear wheel on the passenger side sticks out from the body more than the drivers side all other wheels are fine been told its the rear axle link bar thats attached to the body and rear axle since fitting the lift it seems to have pulled the axle to the left about an inch ...is there a longer bar i can buy or any other way to rectify the problem other than removing the suspension

I rather think you'll get a bit of a time for putting sp.....sp.... aaack, can't say that dirty word... Anyway, be prepared to be (justifiably) given a hard time for ruining such a fabulous motor.

However, now that you have done the deed, why not cut and weld a small extension onto the link bar? Surely that would cure her ill's?? Either that or lower her down 2 inches o_O

Get your tinfoil hat on and prepare to receive abuse :D

Might do better on rr.net than here. Not so many here use coil-springs or lift their P38.

Sounds like the body isn't on straight but I know nothing about lifting one of these.

With a Panhard rod, if you raise the chassis up, the panhard rod will pull the axle sideways as it is only fixed to one side of the axle to the opposite side of the chassis....as the two move apart, the panhard rod rotates in an arc and pulls the axle across....

Given the rear panhard rod attaches to the chassis on the left and the axle on the right, lift the chassis and the rod will pull the axle to the left....

Fi and adjustable panhard rod...or better still, put the Range Rover back to how God had intended it!

Difference in height from standard to wade is just a little over 1.5" or 40 mm. Car will not allow speeds above 35 MPH in this mode. You have raised your car 2" or 50.8 mm, the angle of the panhard rod has changed pulling the axle over, be careful going around roundabouts at speed.

been ok on roundabouts even at speed but thanks for all your replies ..but i think i know how to fix the problem without removing the suspension...i will try it and let you know

You sticking a cage on it? Not sure if you've seen a P38 roll without one?

Look up Range Rover Evolution. He used to do some nice bits for off roading the P38.
