Hi, I'm back a up again with yet more probs should have known things were going too good. First up is my EAS it's been bypassed so you inflate it manually, but I keep getting EAS problem on the dash and all the lights are on, am I right in believing you can buy a relay or something to correct this? Also today I opened my boot today and the upper half opened fine but the lower half is only releasing on the near side, can anyone help me as to how I can open it ? Many thanks in advance!:)

I'd very seriously suggest that you look into getting your suspension working properly. Have you considered what might happen if you're involved in a serious accident and your car is investigated? You're probably invalidating your insurance.

However a quick search on here tells me that if you short out pins 7 to 18 in the plug into the ECU you'll only get an EAS MANUAL warning each time you start up.

Never thought about the insurance side of it before, might be worth looking into. How do I go about shorting out the pins you were referring to, can you explain in layman's terms as i'm not too clever on electrics, would it be possible to give a step by step guide (in an idiot-proof description!) Many thanks:D

Got to second what wammers is saying, forget the bodges mate and sort your suspension. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to work on and its not expensive to fix properly

get a lead and CD from Datatek on this very forum, very cheap and the perfect toy for the job. If your system has been bypassed for manual inflation we can assume that your bags and lines are still in a useable condition so its probably an issue with your pump. I rebuilt mine not to long back now with an ebay kit with cost peanuts but most other components are cheap as well.

There are many knowledgeable folk on here that can help you out but you'll need a lead to diagnose where to start.

I've already repaired the airbags so the suspension stays up fine, whereabouts do I start to look, I've never even opened the EAS up to look at anything, I asume there are some kind of connectors in there for the airlines to go on, and what is supposed to happen then, or is there a test I can carry out on the compressor first to see if it works? Should it make a noise or something when the ignition comes on!

Send a PM to DATATEK on here and request that he exchange, for some of your beer tokens, a computer connector lead and a CD.
On the CD will be the software to read and clear faults in the suspension system and a complete workshop manual for your Range Rover. In this you can read all about the suspension system.

:D

No need to open the EAS box, the airline connections are on the side next to the engine, must get the right pipe in the right hole though.
The compressor will only run if there are no hard faults unless you use the diagnostics to force it to run. Could be that the relay has been removed to stop it running or, if the airbags were leaking maybe the thermal trip has gone.
Wammers test for the compressor is in the "How To" section at the top of the page:)

Cheers, I'll have a look at that and give it a go. I'm away this weekend so maybe next week, I'll keep you updated!
