Have a problem with my P38 2000 DSE, hopefully someone can point in right direction, when starting up , shift into Drive on an incline the car rolls back, this has done this a few times have spoken with a lad I work with & he says it may be a lack of oil in gearbox, have only just got the P38 in the last few months it has 46k on the clock any info advice much appreciated.

Cheers

They all do that unless you give it a bit of wellie, lack of oil in the gearbox won't help.

My DSE does not roll back unless it is a very very steep hill start, same for my 300tdi discovery auto and the BMW 730 auto before that. All tend to creep forward when in drive. I would check the oil level anyway.

If you have had a vehicle a few months and have not yet checked the oil levels shame on you. First job on a vehicle new to you is to check ALL levels.

Didn't the LR gits do away with the trannie oil dipstick on the 2000 on models just to be sure something would go wrong?
