That pretty much answers that then they really are a pile of poo! The wife will have to loose some weight so the three of us can get across the front seats!!!!

If you want a P38 then sell your fender and buy a cheap P38 and then spend the rest of your money fixing it up.

You may get a decent one but they all break and have poor electrics.

Just wondered what people thought of them, and they do really seem to be a bad buy compared to a Defender!

you get one that has a cold and it will turn into the plague , get a county or a disco , p38 as a second car and you might be alright , as your only car keep a set of taxi numbers on you

p38's are junk, if your lucky you could get a good one but chances are you wont, they are the vehicle that gave LR is poor reputation! Personally I would sell the defender and get a disco2 TD5, excellent tow vehicle and lots of comforts...

with p38's its luck of the draw. You should have a look at some Discovery 2's you can get them at that sort of price now, though you may be pushed to find one thats in pretty good nick.

Disco 2's ent rust buckets, 1's are however! I went to look at a Disco for £3,800 and it was in absolutely great condition, no body rust and very solid underneath!

Dont worry matey, I checked it over thoroughly - only reason we didnt get it (was for me dad) is that he decided that he must sell his other car before he got it and unfortunately, by time that happened, it was gone...

I know loads of people with disco 2's - seems to be the most common car where I live, and none of them suffer with rust.

I seen bad rusted ones its like any thing how its been looked after how many ponds its been in the diesel p38 are fine air suspension is what gave it a bad name ! Becuase it was all new and peeps couldn't handle it my p38 still going strong not rusting away and is cheap to fix but a v 8 is another story !

I give up on you ya bastid, too determined hah!

Im guessing your just going off a bad experience, fair enough. Personally though, D2's are the best Landy on a budget.
