Hi chaps
I keep getting the above message after I have taken the ignition key out, which wont allow me to lock the car with remote until it clears - which can take minutes. I can lock with key but I don't think alarm is then armed. My question: is it a mechanical switch, which a drop of oil on key might solve or is it software? Thanks as usual in advance for help. Rob

Sorry chaps, I should have searched and realised there are lots of threads on this and it appears a small squirt of WD40 and wiggle key round a bit should do the trick. I'll look first next time. Thanks

Then when it dries what are you going to clean the oily crap that the WD40 leaves in the lock out with. Contact cleaner several applications blown out with and air line after each one then graphite lock lubricant. Blue can WD 40 is a water dispersant and sealer NOT a lubricant. It leaves an oily film on the surface it is applied to. Originally for keeping rocket nose cones free from rust. That is why it first came out as WD40 Rocket. WD40 means Water dispersant 40th formula.
