I think mine is leaking or sorrounding pipes are?????

Where to start with it or what do i check before i start ripping the car apart.

Any advive, suggestions or help would be great.

If you take the lower dash panel off you should be able to see the joint of the heater matrix and the pipes to see if the o rings are leaking.

If the engine cooling system is not losing water, then it could be condensate from the aircon. The drain tubes get blocked

it smells of anti freeze in the car and it is using a small amount of water.

Plus i have the a/c turned off at the mo lol

There is a good write up on Range Rovers on the o ring replacment.

However a couple of tips from when I did mine, tigten the screw on so there is still a little movement in the plate and then squezze it togther with some long noze ppliers to get it all lined up and then do the final few truns.

I also put a a nut on the pack of the plate as i could feel the thread in the cast alloy plate starting to go, in fact the nut means you and get it nice and tight with a spanner on the back of it.

i always change the phillips screw for a small nut head bolt then you can use a socket and ratchet makes a good tight fixing though have also come across one with stud lock and i had to remove the dash as the screw rounded off! and the bracket snapped

He thanks for the tips, how long does it take just to change the o rings.

I think it is just the o rings that are leaking as it only seem to be damp on the drivers side, plus it doesn't mist thescreen up when running like a old car i used to have when the matrix went.

Is it a common thing on a p38 for the matrix to give up, My mate has just changed his on his classic.
