I would leave it. I've never known anyone ever touch that calibration screen other than to hide an issue.

I am more interested in why you cannot see anything. I wonder if there is something up with the ECU? Or someone played with it?
Any memory device that can be altered is capable of losing it's data. Too early to suggest the ECU is duff, if the values can be written back and they stay there, well and good, if they cannot be written back, then it's time to try another ECU.
My understanding is that the numbers are for trimming the FIP to account for production tolerances, they are not 128 on all cars, I have seen 3 now where some of the numbers have been different (NOT the idle setting) with 132, or 135 instead of 128.

That's the only thing I have heard of, people edging that up from 128 to increase idle speed and stop it stalling.

I suppose putting default values in couldn't make it worse.

For sure it needs to have the default values entered. If the ECU will not accept the default values then we need to move on from there.

Nanocom info does say later ECU versions had trimmable values. Maybe the early ones don't need the numbers. But not entirely sure. As said the 97 one didn't have them but I loaded them. But it was a bit of a mishmash as said.

My early one had the numbers even though it had been chipped.

Yep. Mine's a manual '95 and pretty sure I had the same numbers. Don't have my Nanocom at the moment so cannot check but pretty certain I checked when I got it.

Thanks lads and yep I am confused enough but that document you gave me @wammers has some detail about what readings should be and what to enter into the pump calibration it cleared things up a bit. So I need to make sure everything is running correctly and see (unlikley) if that gets rid of the mil lamp flashing when revs drop but like you said will be QS but want to see if I be lucky enough but sure wont be.

Its annoying as the car runs really well nice through rev range and idle is solid, feel very much like all hard work put in to be left with this final issue has shadowed what I have done somewhat of a failure as was looking forward to driving it again. :(

But as @Datatek said make sure everything is correct first before dealing with the QS considering just spent all my money on the nanocom will need to save for QS on the pump

It won't stop the MIL lamp flashing I have told you what causes that.

@Grrrrrr on the nanocom tried to get pump calibration figures can only get idle value? Have attached screen shot.

Just been out and checked. Mine is exactly the same. All blank except for the idle value of 128. Mine's a '95 with no EGR.

@Grrrrrr thanks for checking, wonder why this happens then? Assume yours is running ok?

Have you tried to write the values in and save then they disappear?

Mines a 95 manual.

Mine's also a manual box.

No, not tried changing anything on mine. Idles rock solid at 750 rpm so not touching a thing!

It must be done in BECM diagnostic mode. But as said may not need them for early ECUs.

I tried another method that Rick recommended and that didn't work so either the early ECU's don't allow this or it is a software issue I have asked Blackbox Solutions.

On getting another ECU for comparison only does the product code matter apart from it needs to be from a pre-EGR diesel?

My current ECU is ERR 6113 Type No. 4069 the ones for sale are 6114 4069.

Don't worry about it. As i said the 1997 manual i entered the codes into had been chipped and had the IAT preset in the ECU. But still used the IAT on the manifold. So it was either a newer ECU or the chip for a newer ECU had been fitted in it. The old chip was in the glove box. Never went into it to be honest. It ran very well but some of the readings were a little strange. So left it alone. Maybe it was an intermediate ECU fitted to later 1997 cars prior EGR in 1998. And could be used on either i really don't know.

Ok thanks and noted.
