Heat damage on the underside leading to a potential fire.Today the P38 decided to mod itself into a straight through exhaust. What's the best way to fix it? And are there any cons in driving around with it besides the noise? Thanks.
How likely is that? There aren't many things to catch fire under.Heat damage on the underside leading to a potential fire.
Just a bit of rattling noise of the pipes at a certain rpm, not the exhaust itself. The MOT luckily isn't til late autumn so there's time to fix it.MoT failure to have a leaking exhaust. How loud is it?
You can buy bits on ebay pretty cheap normally. If you are prepared to fit yourself it shouldn't cost much, but exhausts can be horrid to mess about with.

Look at the photo, the pipe is completely severed.I think he means just the baflles have failed?

If you were in France, a non conforming exhaust would be an MOT test failure. There seems to be a conversion done by a previous owner, the wide part that was supposed to be a silencer was replaced with a regular pipe and it looks usable still. Seems to be attached with bolts. I'm wondering if it's possible to get just the curved broken pipe to replace?
The car is registered in Estonia, has never failed a MOT with its exhaust setup. Then again Estonia has many cool laws, you can do almost anything to your car and there is no car taxIf you were in France, a non conforming exhaust would be an MOT test failure.
No car tax here either but the MOT is a bit harsh. The car is registered in Estonia, has never failed a MOT with its exhaust setup. Then again Estonia has many cool laws, you can do almost anything to your car and there is no car tax

There, corrected that for youIt’s broken so you should fix it.
That’s not your car, you are just looking after it for the next generation who will not be able to use it unless it's converted to electric
