hi all,

i am new to the site. :D

i am currently working on a 2000 p38 range rover. the rangy came in with a split n/s/r airbag.

1) i have changed the airbag, but it still dropped on the n/s/r.
2) i checked the lines for air leaks, found a leak so i ran new pipe from the eas unit to the n/s/r bag.
3) i then changed the eas unit for another recon unit. still dropping on the same side.

I am missing something that should also be checked?

any help or info would be great.
cheers shane

1) airbags should always be changed in axle pairs.
2)The pipe may not be fully seated at one end, new airbags have been known to have on O ring missing.
3)What EAS unit? the valve block? First rule of diagnostics, don't go swapping stuff unless you are pretty sure the unit is at fault.
It needs to go on diagnostics, could just be the height sensor picked up crap when it dropped beyond it's normal travel.

+1 on height sensor
cheepest ive found are adventure 4x4 in leeds think there were £63 posted

Mozz you can't sell up, who else is going to get all those newbies into their Rangies?

and - what are you going to replace it with?

- what else are you going to spend the next six months doing if not polishing it?

Go onto ebay and enter eas software and lead, you can get a cd + the lead for cheap money. install the software and then check out the system. Also look for a RAVE cd which is all l/rover manuals and you can find the wiring diagram. It's worth doing as the cd pay for themselves the first time you use them.

(from the OP's post he appears to be a garage - so I would hope they know what they are doing or have access to the official workshop manuals before taking on the P38 EAS, and will have access to a LR Diagnostic machine to be able to correctly diagnose and calibrate the system)
