No what im asking is what are the chances of the injector nosel having some kind of fault that lets it leak?
Cos even a new pipe feels loose ie. not as tight as the same pipe is on the other nosels

Remember there is 3mm pipe and 3.2mm it should be 3mm
You mean like a block and it pressurising .

Interesting that it's number four, the expensive one, that's giving the trouble. I wonder if a previous owner has changed this and found a cheaper alternative with slightly smaller leak off nipples.

No i was thinking like a cracked nosel or somthing but i have been useing 3.2mm pipe (thats what a landy indy supplyed knowing what it was for) so that might be the problem! Strainge how it only loose on that nosel though and thats the same nosel that caused me to change to pipes in the first place
However dogsbody could be on to something because on closer inspection the injector does look newer than the rest! Well not as dirty anyway, think ill see if i can find some 3mm pipe today and try that

The spill off nipples should have a body diameter of 3.90 mm the retention cone should have a flare diameter of 4.90 mm. There should be no possibility of a leak if you fit new standard 3.2 mm - 1/8" bore spill pipe. Standard spill pipe has been 1/8" ID since Adam was a lad. But since metrication has been quoted as 3.2 mm. Number four injectors spring leaks from where the plastic meets the metal.

And if it is that is it a mater of nipping it up or new washer or new injector? Im just assumeing it was leak off pipe as its a very loose fit!
Ferther investigation is required me thinks

I know there don't have to have clips but you can get them and 50p it can't do any harm can it if it stops it leaking :)

Yes I thougt it was 3.0mm but there is 1.mm 2.5 3.2 3.4 so its not that standard is it :)

If you go to a motor factors and ask for spill pipe it will be 3.2 mm ID. They will not ask you what ID you want. 3.2 mm is standard spill pipe. It has been for the last fifty years that i have been working on diesel engines. Correct spill pipe for the BMW M51 engine IS 3.2 mm ID.

Just been out and watched it
It is deffanatly coming from the nossle but im not sure if its where the nossle meets the body rather than the spill pipe
Anyone know if its welded/screwed in/glued ect..
What are the chances it is coming up through that joint?

Plug and play. Make sure you get the correct one. EGR and none EGR are different.

Is there any way to tell the differance by looking at them?
Im gona try my luck at a vauhall breakers but they strip the cars first and sell off the shelf

Different plug. Injector part number. STC 2290 up to 98. STC 4218 after 98. Pre and post EGR.
