just got my P38, every now and then abs/trac lights come on- sometimes stay on for bit then go, sometimes don't come on at all. its all new to me- where do i start looking? cheers

Could be many things but first stop make sure all four abs sensors are seated properly this is usually the cause

When you say "every now and then" do you mean when you are driving? The ABS light on my '97 doesn't go out until I get up to nearly 10mph.

yeah can be driving, then it will come on, sometimes from when i start off and drive for a while it comes on

Mine was doing that and it was a wheel bearing going. Changed the wheel bearing problem went.

You say in your Title "ABS / Traction Control light" ..... This would "Usually" indicate a failed Accumilator on the braking system
