Checked fuses?

have you checked your abs sensors ? i damaged 1 recently replacing a front wheel bearing so had similar dash display to you.
check there all in properly and or for damage to the wires if all good get your self a new one and by process of elimination change 1 at a time for the new one remembering to drive it between changes.

cheap enuff off the bay £7.99

Ta I will start with checking sensors and price a new pump too
All the relevant fuses in the under bonnet box are ok.

A new pump will cost more than the car is worth:eek:
It's not likely to be the sensors if the pump doesn't run check the relay and the fuse box for signs/smells of burning. You can also check the pressure switch with a multimeter.

If the unit detects a fault it wont work. normal cause is as mentioned the abs sensors normally caused by water ingress or play in a wheel bearing they are known to break down randomly though. you can either check with the correct computer or use a volt meter to check them.

Is there a test system I can plug into which will give fault codes etc? Similar to the RSW EAS software?

How can I check the pressure switch and relay? The fusebox and motor dont smell of burning although motor was a bit warm.

Nanocom.

If the motor is warm, sounds like the motor has power and may have failed. You can open up the relay and check the contacts visually and with a DVM. The pressure switch can also be checked with a DVM, in addition it's possible to power the compressor directly to check the motor, look at RAVE for the connections.

Thanks everybody. Will be working it at weekend.
Datatek, thank you but what / who is RAVE?
Sorry to be so ignorant

RAVE is the full Land Rover service manual, you can down load it from a link in Wammers EAS guide in the How To section. Alternatively I can supply on CD along with the EAS software and cable:)

Thanks for help Datatek I have the EAS software from RSW and cable. Shame doesnt work for ABS.

I wasn't suggesting the EAS cable for your problem, only saying i can supply RAVE on CD if you can't down load it:) I should try to write more clearly:eek:

Sorry Datatek I know what you meant I was just wishing that it worked to fault find ABS.
Is there any software etc that does fault find ABS? Other than Testbook?
