yeh thats what im thinking of doing have you had the experence of buying one off ebay and trouble with it?
Yes,diagnosed a goosed DII 4.0v8 Maf today,and actually convinced the bloke to get a real one.
None of the cheapo ones work properly,they all seem to give a low reading at a steady speed and worse still they dont respond quickly enough to a snap throttle opening and cause hesitation - not good for overtaking etc.
 
hi guys i ended up getting one off ebay as the range doesnt start without the carb cleaner in the intake

the maf i brought off ebay does the same and it is a pattern part not original one

any other idea what it could be.

i thought with the pattern maf it should start with out carb cleaner it does the same as before
 
could a clogged fuel filter cause the range to just pop and not let you rev it more than 2-3k when driving...
 
i havnt checked them mate last time i looked at them they looked in good condition

how can i test them?

would they cause a starting problem like this? it start on petrol when you spray carb cleaner but you cant drive it on petrol as it starts to die if you rev too much you can drive if you keep the revs between 2-3k max no more it just then pops..

switching it to gas after you get it started it drives fine with no issues

the problem is petrol side related cant seem to figure out whats wrong need to get this fixed asap

its been on a logic comp and no faults came up

It is possible to do yourself with right tools but, u best taking them to a daignostics shop, for best result.
 
i dont think its the o2 sensors i tought hey only kick in once the car is warm right?

i tried cleaning the spark plugs yesterday and taking one or two sensors off its starts now and then

but when you drive it you can only rev up to 2k and the speed will pick up if you rev it any more it jus pops and will start to drop speed and wants to turn off when you take your foot off the pedal a bit it drives only at around 2k revs no higher

any idea guys it also has a starting problem its fine to start by sprayin carb cleaner in the intake every time other wise you will be cranking several times 7-8 if your lucky with out carb cleaner it might start
