Right well thanks folks. If you drive in sports it is better but still no power house. Will get it plugged in a computer when I get my BECM back and see what it says.

hey folks. got my self a p38 4.6 4 months ago and hate it. had a 3.5 manual discovery before the p38 and it was a pulling machine. never died on hills and was good on fuel. the p38 is on gas aswell as the old disco.
The p38 just has no pulling power at all and does 75 miles to 50 litres of gas. even running on petrol it gets roughly the same so costs a fortune to run.
the old disco would do 160 odd miles to 60 litres which i thought was good for what miles i do.
Basically i'm just asking for advise on it to see if anyone thinks it has a big problem or if its just a simple job to make it pull better. if it sees a hill it dies down and no matter how far you push the throttle it goes no better untill you kick the pedal down and let it rev like f**k
I'm also new to the forum so hello.
:welcome2:hi gary read my new threads re diaframgh it may help .cheers mozz:)

Any sign of overheating? mine was well down on power and would overheat if you floored it too much, both on gas and petrol. Found a couple of small coolant leaks ( top rad hose, and gasket on the bottom of the throttle body) and now ive sorted them, it SEEMS to be a lot better (done about 100ish miles driving it hard since the repair)
