Can Anyone tell me if a 1992 BMW 3 series 2.5TD engine would fit in my 1999 P38 2.5TD? are the engine blocks the same?

i if you look on the forum there ar lodes of threds on this the engines ar the same but the injector bump mite be difront so you mite have to yous the one of the origenal engine

Hi i'm selling my engine out of my range rover but it does need the injection pump changing. Mines a late 1995 with no egr I think some of the newer ones had an egr valve.

The block is the same. You cannot though change the FIP as the P38 one is apparantly different. You have to change the electronic bit on the top. You will have to use a lot of other bits off the P38. Lots of threads on this.
What is the problem with your engine?
