Never had plenum foam, no leaks. Your description sounds a lot of water for a screw head or two.
I did a phone video recording of my leak, whilst pouring water on the screw from a jug. It was like a running tap onto the carpet. Unhelpfully I can't find the recording, but it was about 8 years ago  and I can't find most stuff from yesterday, never mind 8 years...

Only when i open the doors.

I've seen a small pool of water inside my filter housing tho, so i hope and think thats my only leak.

I've heard the foam is mainly to prevent leaves etc to block the drains in the panel? But also that the foam absorbs water, and minimizes water coming in?
Unsure, but i got the impression that its important. Better to have, than not ay? I'm just waiting for winter! Wonder how my car behaves in the winter.. If its a bitch to start or nay :D Gotta have some fun in the snow
Forget foam, wire mesh it like wot Data said :D

I will definetly do that next time. Probably looks tough aswell.
I don't know how long theese foams lasts. Hopefully i will have the car for years, so maybe i will experience a mesh there

I replaced the foam on mine it lasted a few years, Dopey on here used fish tank filter foam and it lasted very well, that is what i will replace it with, its on the to do list , i may even put in some metal mesh as well.
